University Hospitals, Microsoft team up for men's health unknown

University Hospitals Cutler Center for Men is piloting a technology-assisted concierge service to better engage men in their health care and, leaders hope, diagnose and treat health conditions earlier.

Research has found men are more likely than women to delay or entirely avoid seeking health care, leading to worse outcomes.

Dr. Lee Ponsky, executive director of the Cutler Center for Men, lists several data points: Among 14 of the 15 leading causes of death, men die more often than women; men have a shorter life expectancy, are less 50% less likely to seek help for depression or mental health issues, and are more likely to die from some forms of cancer or heart disease, he said.
