UCHealth and Intermountain forming 700-physician joint CIN unknown

Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare and Colorado Springs, Colo.-based UCHealth are forming a joint venture clinically integrated network, Intermountain said in a Jan. 5 news release.

The partnership introduces a new health insurance option and is intended to hasten the state's transition to value-based care. It will bring together more than 700 primary care physicians and hundreds of hospitals and clinics across the state, according to the news release.

Intermountain's existing Colorado Quality Care Network and UCHealth's Coordinated Care Colorado networks will be joined, with other affiliated networks able to join in the future, according to the news release. The partnership will support insurance and programs offered through Intermountain subsidiary SelectHealth.

The two health systems will remain separate entities, and the CIN will be operated as an independent company, according to the news release.
