Lupin Digital Health Launches Lyfe, an E-Clinic for Heart Failure ... unknown

India-based pharmaceutical company Lupin has introduced Lyfe, a virtual clinic under its digital health arm, dedicated to managing heart failure patients. The e-clinic is staffed by a team of healthcare professionals including paramedics, nurses, cardiotherapists, health coaches, and care managers, who support cardiologists in their patient care. Equipped with AI-guided software and internationally-approved medical devices, Lyfe provides clinically actionable alerts and insights.

The virtual clinic utilizes technology to provide real-time updates for doctors and personalized care pathways, emergency services, and educational resources for patients. This innovative solution aims to address the growing burden of heart failure in India, a leading cause of cardiac death affecting over 10 million people. By enabling cardiologists to conveniently manage heart failure patients from anywhere, Lupin aims to partner with every cardiologist in India and augment their capabilities with a multidisciplinary team of experts.

Initial implementation results have shown that Lyfe has achieved 88% compliance from patients, improved vital signs, and reduced the risk of readmission. This signifies the positive impact of e-clinics in enhancing healthcare services and addressing the shortage of healthcare workers in remote and rural communities.

The launch of Lyfe is part of a larger trend in India, where several e-clinics have emerged to increase access to healthcare services. Startup CureBay secured $6 million in Series A funding to expand its network of e-clinics in Odisha, while AkosMD, a startup in India’s capital, has introduced an AI-powered clinic that integrates telemedicine and care management solutions.

Lupin Digital Health CEO Sidharth Srinivasan stated that the goal of Lyfe is to support cardiologists and caregivers in effectively managing heart failure, ultimately improving health outcomes for patients. Through collaborations with cardiologists and hospitals, Lupin aims to make this innovative solution accessible to as many patients as possible.
