Kaiser, Mayo, CVS back $30M round for AI clinical documentation company unknown
Abridge, an artificial intelligence-powered clinical documentation company, raised $30 million in a series B financing round that saw participation from CVS Health Ventures, Kaiser Permanente Ventures, Lifepoint Health and Mayo Clinic.
The company's software uses AI to convert patient and clinician conversations into clinical notes. In August, Epic integrated some of Abridge's clinical documentation tools through its "Partnership and Pals" program. The company plans to use the financing to support more health system rollouts, according to an Oct. 26 Abridge news release.
Spark Capital led the financing round.
"We are encouraged by the enthusiasm of thousands of clinicians who use Abridge every day and we look forward to collaborating with this talented team," Vijay Patel, managing partner and co-founder of CVS Health Ventures, said in the news release. "Our shared focus on innovation in healthcare can help enhance the work Abridge is doing across a range of clinical use cases, including primary care."
