Intermountain, Walgreens back $15M round for medtech company unknown

The venture capital arm of Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare and retail pharmacy giant Walgreens were among the entities that joined in a $15 million investment round for medtech company Kinnos.

Kinnos is the creator of Highlight, a technology that colorizes disinfectants. The company was founded during the Ebola outbreak in 2015, according to a May 2 Kinnos news release shared with Becker's.

"Cleaning, disinfection and safety are mission-critical concerns for every hospital leader today," Kinnos CEO Steve Fanning said in the release. "Highlight from Kinnos empowers those charged with cleaning and disinfecting to better see the results of their efforts, enhancing confidence and peace of mind around effectively performing their jobs and serving our most vulnerable communities."
