Nannette Berensen, PharmD, has been tapped to serve as the new COO of Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health.
Ms. Berensen brings a wealth of experience to the role, according to a Feb. 2 news release.
Most recently, she served as vice president and COO of clinical shared services at Intermountain Health. She also previously served as director of pharmacy services for Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City. Prior to that, she was an associate professor at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy in Charleston and director of the MUSC Drug Information Center.
Ms. Berensen is taking on her new role after former COO Rob Allen became the new president and CEO of Intermountain Health.
"I have the highest respect for and confidence in Nannette, who has demonstrated a unique ability to drive innovation, bring teams together, and improve the patient experience," Mr. Allen said in the release. "We need leaders like Nannette who are respected by our colleagues, put patients and caregivers first, and can deliver on our mission. I join other leaders across Intermountain in congratulating her, and I look forward to our continued partnership."
Intermountain Health is a 33-hospital health system with locations in seven states.
