Austrian insurance startup hi.health has raised €6 million from SpeedInvest, Calm/Storm, Haymarker Ventures, Fin VC, Nina Capital, and others.
Founded in 2019, hi.health has created an app that allows users to submit their medical bills for reimbursement. Users snap a photo of the invoice using the app and hi.health submits the invoices to relevant insurers for payment. Some of the insurance companies that work with hi.health include Allianz Private Krankenversicherung, ARAG, AZA, Ergo Direkt, and HUK-Coburg.
The startup, which is available in Germany, also targets health services companies with an online checkout solution that includes the reimbursement feature. If integrated, the product – hi.direct – allows customers to pay for health services/products and submit costs directly to their private health insurers at checkout.
Since launching, hi.health has helped users with over €50 million in reimbursements.
