Surgery prep and recovery is the most popular use of digital health at U.S. health systems, a new survey found.
Meanwhile, chronic disease management experienced the biggest increase in digital health deployment in 2023, with a 50% jump, while several health systems launched women's health programs, according to the Feb. 14 report from Xealth, a digital health spinoff from Renton, Wash.-based Providence.
Here were the top digital health use cases in 2023, according to the survey of nearly 30 health systems (by percentage of patients):
1. Surgery: 41%
2. Physical therapy and rehab: 15%
3. Preventive care: 14%
4. Women's health: 13%
5. Other*: 12%
6. Chronic disease management: 10%
7. Family and general medicine: 8%
8. Virtual care enablement: 3%
9. Behavioral health: 2%
