Digital Health App Holly Health Partners with Age UK

Digital health app Holly Health has partnered with Age UK to offer mental and physical health coaching for people aged 50-70+ across the UK. The app, developed in collaboration with users, provides personalized coaching for mental and physical health.

Users have access to 24/7 digital coaching, educational videos, and health habit monitoring. This continuous guidance and motivation help enhance physical activity, mindfulness, and lifestyle behaviors. By partnering with organizations, Holly Health is offering a year of free access to adults across the UK to help them manage their health digitally.

After a successful 12-week pilot program involving 36 participants in collaboration with Age UK, over 90% of users developed new health habits. The partnership with GP surgeries worldwide and the national launch of the healthy aging service expands Holly Health’s reach across the nation.

CEO of Holly Health, Grace Gimson, expressed her excitement about the project and the opportunity to work directly with users to improve the service. The positive outcomes from the pilot program are a testament to the effectiveness of the co-design approach and indicate a promising future for the initiative.

The pilot program found that 93% of participants reported carrying out new healthy habits automatically, and 89% planned to continue using Holly Health after completion. Additionally, 94% stated they would recommend the app to others. Users have praised the app for its empathy and encouragement towards self-care.

CEO of Age UK Lewisham and Southwark, Ross Diamond, highlighted the app’s digital approach to healthy aging, which complements their work in the community. Age UK is proud of the collaboration and the input from older adults in reshaping the tool to make it more accessible and relevant.

The goal of Holly Health aligns with an initiative supported by Sir Muir Gray, advisor to Public Health England, which aims to increase self-empowerment and prevent chronic diseases in people over 50. By encouraging older adults to take responsibility for their own health, Holly Health and Age UK are making strides in promoting healthy aging.
