Australian Digital Health Agency to Outsource Corporate IT Strategy
Australian Digital Health Agency to Outsource Corporate IT Strategy unknown
The Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA) has decided to outsource the creation and execution of its next corporate IT strategy. The agency, which oversees My Health Record, electronic prescribing, and other digital health services, has sought an external company to develop a corporate IT and digital strategy, as well as an IT roadmap for the next three to four years.
The decision to outsource the IT strategy was made in order to allow its valuable staff resources to focus on delivering government priorities. ADHA clarified that this outsourcing is a short-term measure to refresh and update the agency’s internal corporate IT plan.
The agency believes that outsourcing this work will provide access to specific expertise and new ideas in corporate IT design and internal technology systems. However, the delivery of the agreed actions will still be led and supported internally.
The new IT strategy and roadmap are expected to improve the agency’s collaboration systems, support hybrid ways of working through the implementation of new devices, and enhance data storage capabilities. ADHA also intends to consolidate a number of business systems and maximize the use of Dynamics 365, a broadly-used CRM system that was introduced through a 2021 deal with Microsoft.
By refreshing and updating their internal IT systems, ADHA aims to ensure that their staff are fully supported in delivering the government’s digital health priorities effectively in the present and future.
