Many hospitals and health systems are opening new centers dedicated to advancing artificial intelligence in healthcare. Here are three hospitals and health systems who have announced plans to open new AI dedicated centers, as reported by Becker's since May 8:

1. Dartmouth College is opening a $2 million center, dubbed Center for Precision Health and Artificial Intelligence, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center's campus based in Lebanon, N.H.

2. Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai has established a new center focused on advancing artificial intelligence and machine learning. The center, dubbed the Center for Artificial Intelligence Research and Education, will focus on developing new algorithms, as well as applying AI and machine learning to genomic research, personalized medicine and other healthcare research.

3. UC San Diego Health is using a $22 million donation to establish a new center for digital information and artificial intelligence. The new center, which will be located at UC San Diego Jacobs Medical Center, aims to consolidate the organization's digital information it is gathering through various programs and pilots.
